Magical Wild Blueberry “Tomte” Oatmeal

This is a perfect, magical breakfast, especially for cold winter days.  Best eaten the morning after a nighttime marathon of reading Tomte books. 


  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 1 cup frozen wild blueberries
  • 2 tbsp cold-pressed unrefined coconut oil 
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. In a medium saucepan, boil water.  Then add oats and reduce heat, stirring continuously for about one minute or until the quick oats are softened and cooked through.  See quick oat instructions for exact cooking times. 
  2. Once oats are cooked through, turn off the heat and mix in the remaining ingredients!
  3. Serve and enjoy!


I use frozen wild blueberries, but fresh can be easily used too.  

Experiment with different fruit choices or even chocolate chips!
